Bureau Veritas (BV) provides services that help their clients comply with standards and regulations relating to Quality, Health & Safety, Environment and Social Responsibility. The Inspection Services Division was an amalgam of acquisitions and BV recognised a need to improve its inspection planning and delivery processes.

Aims of the project
We were engaged to work alongside the regional teams to review, improve and harmonise the production planning processes.
A series of workshops and review meetings to develop and then monitor the production process and measures.
The key outputs were structure for planning and a sophisticated supply and demand model called the Forward Look. This enabled the ten Regional Managers to plan resources against the demand for the coming twelve months and across ten skill pools.
We also implemented a Business Improvement Log to capture all opportunities for improvement. This became a core document to help prioritise and drive through operational improvements.
The value of forecasting activity against labour supply over a rolling year improved productivity.
